Bridesmaids is pure awesomeness

Kristen Wig is always a riot on SNL, but she has outdone herself in co-writing and starring in Bridesmaids.You can figure out the plot from the trailer below. All you really need to know is that it's one of the best comedies around and it's not considered a chick flick just because all the main characters are women. Maya Rudolph has great chemistry with Kristen and Melissa McCarthy is a total scene stealer. Finally, she got a deserving part. Chris O'Dowd (pictured to the right) was a seriously charming stud muffin treat too. Everyone in the theater was rolling in their seats with hysterical laughter through most of the movie... so if you're lookin for a fun movie this is it. (I'm sure Hangover 2 is a good bet too.. Just haven't seen it yet)

Hot New CW shows comin' our way

There's 3 shows coming to the CW this fall that I'm diggin' on already.

Buffy's back, baby!! Sarah Michelle Gellar stars in Ringer. Imbd info.. "A young woman on the run from the mob poses as her wealthy twin sister to try and evade them, but soon discovers that her sister has a price on her head as well." CBS was originally going to pick it up, but they thought it would be too complicated. Thankfully the CW knew exactly just how SMG's return to tv would be received.



Secret Circle is another series of books written by LJ Smith (Vampire Diaries author). You guessed it, it's all about witchy goodness. I haven't read it yet, but the upcoming show makes me want to check them out before fall. Life Unexpected's Brittany Robertson will star, along with another handsome handful of young hotties.



Hart of Dixie brings Rachel Bilson of the OC back to tv. (Have I mentioned I'm lovin' all these favourite returns? Bout time, I say!) All I know about this one is Rachel plays a doctor who's life takes a different twist and moves to Alabama to work in a small practice. Rumor has it the writers have and old school WB style to it. Think Everwood.. Felicity.. Gilmore girls. It's going to have heart and humor.



Other networks have some shows that have me curious.. stay tuned and I'll post them network by network.

PS.. Don't forget SNL's finale is tomorrow night. It's a do-not-miss with Justin Timberlake hosting, and Lady freakin' Gaga as musical guest. Justin's been my favorite host the few times he's done it. He's never a let down. (Dick in a box?.. Yup genius) Here's a small clip of his Single Ladies skit.

What up wit dat?

I'm a pretty avid Idol watcher, and I had higher hopes for this season since it was their "reboot." Guess we all forgot a big chunk of Idol voters were also going nutzo for hair flippin' Bieber. So I shouldn't have been surprised when the deserving winner, James Durbin, got the boot this past week. Whether people liked his singing or not, it seemed like he was going to take it all the way. And I know people all have different taste but this outcome is kinda ridiculous. Now I'm rooting for Haley to pull through to finals (and pretty much flip off all the people raggin' on her confidence, mistaking it for arrogance and, well, not to mention her sexy ass), otherwise, it'll be the most boring finale. The decision will come down to.. umm mediocre country chick or semi-creepy country dude? Yeah I could care less now. The only way Idol might be fixed into something that doesn't make you want to slam your head into a wall repeatedly, is to put a limit on voting per phone/account. But I doubt that'll happen. They're too happy saying they get 77 million votes (which mostly comes from only a couple hundred OCD inflicted teenage girls. Who knows.. maybe The Voice and the upcoming X Factor will put Idol to rest.

Nighstade (Book #1 Nightshade Series) Review

Nightshade is the first book in the Nightshade series. The cover is what first caught my eye. I have to admit, I’m a real sucker for these pretty covers when they’re matched up with a paranormal story on the inside.



Basic Breakdown: Calla Tor is the alpha wolf of her pack and has been promised to be the mate to the alpha of another pack, Ren. Ren is sexy, stubborn, dark, and a surprisingly caring werewolf. Under their arranged union, when they both turn 18 on a powerful night, their packs will become one and they will rule together. Pretty much. The wolfpacks are known as Guardians and they serve the Keepers (magical beings in human form that wield powerful magics). Calla and her fellow wolves protect the sacred lands that are wanted by their enemies, the Searchers. While Calla finds herself becoming more and more physically attracted to Ren, a human boy gets in the way. Humans at Calla’s school already know not to mix with the wolfpacks, but this human boy, Shay, rebels against those rules and basic human instinct after Calla, herself, starts breaking rules for him for reasons she can’t even conceive. These two sexy and worthy males leave her hormones, heart and animal instinct torn. Her romantic life isn’t the only thing in shambles. Calla begins to realize just how many things in her magical life have been a lie. Soon her whole world is upside down, making for a great read.



Afterthoughts: Nightshade shows promise for a fun, paranormal series. Calla is a relatable heroin with lots to learn. Where she lacks in life experience, she makes up for in her spunkiness. Calla and Ren’s packs are entertaining and give the book life with their dynamic interactions. Overall, the premier book to this series has good bones, but feels a little emotionally naked. It does touch on issues that everyone deals with today, like, sexism, burdening family expectations, and deceit. There’s good stuff to build on for the rest of the series, and the mild cliff hanger left me looking forward to the next book, which hits shelves in July.

Fast Five

I saw the fifth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise today. I loved the first one and loved the fourth one, but Fast Five has topped them all. Along with our usual Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster, we get familiar faces from every movie that fills out the rest of the franchise. Last but not least, we have the brilliant addition, Dwayne Johnson.. mhmm the Rock.If you know me, you know I like me some Male on Male action in my books.. movies.. porn. Vin Diesel and The Rock workin' the screen together almost made me innocently perverted head almost explode. **Small Spoiler** I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who was affected when our bald hotties embrace forearms **hopeful inspirational tear** lol.

Anyhow, go see it. Hot people.. hot action.. and hot cars. What's not to love? **Also be sure to stay through the end credits until you get an awesome teaser. You definitely don't want to miss it.** Need your arm twisted more? Here's some goodies.
